HPC and Mid-Valley Partner for Mock Job Fair

Since 2017, HPC has been a proud partner of the Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative.  Mid-Valley’s mission is to empower students to become independent, contributing members of their communities; and foster and inspire life-long learning. “Partnerships such as this highlight HPC’s commitment to community stakeholdership, aligning with our values and purpose,” says Glenn Whitecotton, HPC’s Operations Director.  “This partnership has been incredibly rewarding, for both HPC and the amazing students we’ve had the privilege to work with these past eight years.”

On Wednesday, March 26th, Glenn represented HPC at the Mid-Valley mock job fair; providing students with a valuable opportunity to practice their interviewing skills, receive feedback from professionals, and gain insights into real-world hiring processes.  “I’ve met so many incredible young people that are prime candidates. All many want is an opportunity, and they are well deserving. I think of the challenges they may have overcome to get to this stage in their lives. It’s very inspirational and fills me with hope,” says Glenn.

In addition to the mock job fair, HPC proudly supports Mid-Valley by providing internships to its students.  Glenn goes on to state, “It’s my understanding that manufacturing internships are historically rare for students with varying disabilities.  As the father of a disabled child myself, I am grateful to HPC for their commitment to these students, and to Mid-Valley for all the great work they do in our community.  Partnerships such as these fills me with the hope that my daughter will one day have the opportunity to contribute with her unique abilities, and live a fulfilling life.”

All the employee owners of HPC are grateful to Glenn and his continued work with the Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative.
